Formalin Inactivated, Aluminium Hydroxide Gel Adjuvanted
Heamorrhagic Septicaemia commonly known as Gal-Ghotu in U.P. is an acute infectious disease of cattle, sheep, goat, pigs and deer. In India, the disease normally assumes endemic character just before and during the monsoon season. The onset of disease is sudden. A few animals die within 24-36 hours of sickness. The disease is characterized by high fever (1040-1060F), prostration, dropping ears, congested mucosa, lachrymation, fast pulse, rapid breathing with chills, Dyspnoea is marked by extended head, open mouth & protruded tongue. Bloody diarrhoea is common. The oedematous form of disease is characterized by swellings above the eyes, flanks, in the region of pharynx, around the anus and vulva. It may extend from limbs to the body.
This vaccine is a suspension of formalin killed Pasteurella multocida P-52 ( IVRI Strain). The vaccine is adjuvanted with Aluminium hydroxide gel (50 dose vial). Each dose contains 109 CFU of inactivated organism of Pasteurella multocida P-52.


VACCINATION SCHEDULE :
The cattle should be vaccinated at least 15-20 days before the onset of seasonal outbreak. It requires about 14 days for the animal to develop full immunity. Vaccination should be done every year.

ADMINISTRATION :
Shake well to make uniform suspension, inject 2.0 ml per animal as subcutaneous injection in lower neck region.

50 dose vial.

STORAGE :
Store the vaccine at 20-80C.
